IB Recruitment: Emailing Analysts on Thursday Morning and/or Friday Morning
Hey Guys. I am currently a rising junior at a top 15 school going through the recruitment process. I talked to an analyst Wednesday evening and he referred me to some other people. My question is is it ok to email the referral Thursday Morning (and if so, Friday morning)? I have been reading through the forums and it suggests that I should cold email earlier in the week, which I have. My thought process is that they are not likely to respond later in the week, especially with the weekend in sight. And then, my email will be buried in their Inbox the following week.

I personally don’t care when it comes in unless it’s on a weekend. Not that it’ll be viewed as a bad thing, just that I probably won’t respond until the weekday and it’ll be more likely to get lost in my inbox.
As long as you send the email on a weekday during "normal" business hours, I wouldn't worry too much about it. I usually recommend sending any networking emails between 9am and 5 or 6pm as a best practice, but the main thing is to avoid sending emails on weekends or in the middle of the night.
