Bump. Any info on the associate recruiting process would be helpful.
Are you talking about during the second year of an MBA program? That is really the only structured FT associate recruiting.
My bank also takes some associate laterals/industry hires from time to time, but that is not a structured process and happens on one-off occasions as needed throughout the rest of the year.
Well I recently became aware of openings at BBs/EBs for first year associates that start training in August (and are interviewing now). I assume this isn’t the normal MBA recruiting process. Any idea on the latest time banks would continue searching before training? I assume that their search would end before training.
That would be off cycle and not follow a traditional time line/path. Banks try to fill their associate classes with summer interns and then start recruiting right away, during the second year of the MBA, for any spots they have left. Meaning, most spots are filled a year or so in advance. I know banks have still been adding people on a one off basis, but it's not large scale or structured in any way. And there is no time line because they will be looking to fill any open spots as quickly as possible. So you need to network (use your school) to get into contact with the right people as quickly as possible and prepare like you would for a traditional banking interview (technicals and fit).
I would honestly be surprised if there was more than a handful of open spots across all EB/BBs in NYC right now.
