IBD Industrials Senior Analyst Interview prep

Hi, currently an IBD analyst with a focus on ECM looking to move into M&A. I've got an interview for an Industrials M&A senior analyst position in NYC.

I've never touched Industrials before and was wondering if anyone has any advice on what to prepare for an industrials M&A interview?

Thank you

Unsurprisingly, top BBs typically dominate the Industrials field: GS, MS, JPM. Citi also has a strong franchise. LBO prep is not as critical as a PE interview but you should be able to walk the interviewer through simple LBO math / assumptions, if asked.

Generally would expect more of the focus on your previous deals and responsibilities; may also want to think of a few major Industrials deals (market reaction, strategic rationale, etc.)

Hope this helps

Can you speak on the Industrials scene in Chicago? I know you said the top BBs dominate but how would you compare the lower BB's (Barclays/UBS/Deutsche) to the MM and EB players in Chicago for Industrials?
