IBD outside of the US -> better chances when coming back ?

Recruiting in the US is not going very well for me, so I was thinking of shifting to a foreign job market, gain experience there and then eventually come back with a stronger professional profile.

Do you guys feel like this is an efficient strategy ? Is foreign IBD experience valued in the US and do you get the same exits ? Or is it an NBA vs Chinese au Australian league type of situation …

I feel like the industry tends to devalue experience abroad, I wanted to know if this is the case for IBD as well.

Eager to hear your takes on that
