Incoming analyst preparing for Power & Utilities IBD?

Hi all I'm due to be starting at a BB this Summer within their Power and Utilities group.

I was just wondering what (if any) prerequisite knowledge is expected / required at Analyst level and what would be nice to know before starting? Are there any resources that are particularly useful?

I tried searching but couldn't find anything specific. It seems as though the training programme will probably cover everything although I'm still keen to make sure I'm prepared as at the moment I'm not exactly busy.

Thanks

I'm not in IB but I'm from an engineering family heavily involved in power generation. For tech developments, I would read industry publications like PowerMag but those are pretty heavy in technical (ie.boring) even for me. For the business side, just look up research notes and journal articles. Some popular magazines may do a focus on the industry once in awhile (ie. post-Fukushima developments)

Great thanks a lot for the suggestions I'll take a look at PowerMag and some similar publications.

If you don't mind me asking, where will you be located? NY?

I'm starting at a publicly listed utility pretty shortly here and have some primers I may be able to share.
