Informational interview - Head of Coverage Group

Hi all,

So last week I sent an informational interview request to the head of a coverage group at a BB for an informational interview and he actually got back to me and I have a call scheduled with him next week.

The main question I was wondering is if I should ask the question "is there anyone else who can speak to me from your team" that I usually ask analysts and associates at the end of those informational interviews. Since this person is someone high up, I think they may get offended if I ask that question? It's like "why do you need to talk to anyone else when you just talked the head of a department!"

Idk... the people I've talked to thus far have been mostly analysts and associates as well as a couple of alumni MDs, so I'm not sure.

Thanks in advance

I've had conversations with MDs before and one recently I asked "with recruitment starting up soon, is there anyone you can refer me to, to best position myself to receive an interview". He took that very well and actually ended up referring me to someone lower (Associate) that was very heavily involved in recruiting. Higher up doesn't always mean more involved in recruiting as most of it is done at Analyst/Associate level for choosing first rounds especially. So definitely make the ask, if he refers you to someone it'll look good you were referred by the head of a group
