Intern Recruiting for Summer 24

What’s up guys. Hopping on here to wonder if I’m totally burnt for a summer internship for IB in 2024. Doesnt have to be BB, I know those are done.

1 year of experience come May, as well as an SIE, 3.67 cumulative GPA non target. Lmk if you need any other details. Would appreciate recommendations on where to look! Location I could care less about, if the firm is strong I’ll go anywhere.

Best of wishes to you all!

Hey there! It sounds like you've got a solid foundation with your experience and SIE under your belt, not to mention a strong GPA. Here's the scoop:

  • Non-Target School: While being from a non-target school can be a hurdle, it's not insurmountable. Leverage any school alumni networks and career services for potential leads.

  • Networking: This is key. Start reaching out to alumni, attending industry events, and connecting with professionals on LinkedIn. Personal connections can open doors that might otherwise stay closed.

  • Boutique Firms: Since you mentioned that you're open to firms other than Bulge Brackets, boutique banks can be a great option. They often have more flexible recruiting timelines.

  • Off-Cycle Internships: Look for off-cycle internships that might start in the fall or spring. These can sometimes lead to summer opportunities.

  • WSO Resources: Utilize resources like the WSO Networking Guide to refine your approach. The WSO Academy also has courses that could bolster your technical skills and make you stand out.

  • Stay Flexible: You've got the right attitude about location. Being geographically flexible increases your chances significantly.

  • Persistence: Keep applying and don't get discouraged by rejections. It's all part of the process.

Remember, it's not just about finding any internship; it's about finding the right fit for you. Keep swinging, and best of luck!
