Introduction
Hello,
I'm currently a sophomore majoring in finance at San Diego State University. Growing up in an Egyptian household and passionate about soccer, my interest in finance began in high school, sparked by reading about capital markets and engaging with the public markets.
When I started at SDSU, my goal was to explore various paths in finance. Joining the finance club on campus was a key step, where I attended a speaker panel with three investment bankers. Their experiences and insights were incredibly intriguing, leading me to dive deeper into investment banking during my winter break and engage in networking.
This networking effort paid off, and I secured a spring internship at a Private Equity firm in New York. I interned there through spring and into the summer. Afterward, I pursued an analyst position at University Growth Fund, a venture capital firm based in Utah with an office in San Diego. Simultaneously, I worked at an IT company in sales and marketing to fund my education.
I'm preparing for investment banking recruitment starting this spring and am focused on sharpening my technical skills and interview techniques.
