I’m currently working a pretty cushy RE financing gig (solid 9-5). However, my girlfriend is in investment banking and her hours are incredibly terrible. Do you monkeys have any advice on how to handle mismatched schedules?

Some more info: she’s working at something called an “elite boutique” and all she wants to talk about is M&A deals and exit opps at Warburg pincus and TPG. And she spends her entire paycheck on louboutins and other vanity items to “fit in”. Should I be concerned? Do I jump ship?

Jump ship. If she can’t get to BX, KKR, Carlyle or Apollo make sure the door hits you on the way out
Personally, the frivolous spending for the sake of fitting in is more of a concern than the hours IMO. I find personal drive and ambition, regardless of one's field, attractive.
YMMV.
