Is anyone aware of any investment banks in or near Scottsdale AZ? What about Denver CO? Could be BB, MM, or boutique. I would imagine these areas focus heavily on industries like oil and gas? Any information you can provide is much appreciated.

Petrie partners in DEN is solid.
I heavily considered IB in Denver for a while so I can speak to it a little bit. There are a number of boutiques that handle the majority of the transactions. Petrie Partners, CVA, SDR Ventures, Piper Jaffray (not 100% on this one, do have a LI connection working at PJ Denver though), Capstone Headwaters (M&A deal in 2017 I think, one of them was formerly based in Denver, idk which off the top of my head), D.A. Davidson, Quadriga Partners, FMI, Forbes M&A Group, and GLC Advisors.
Surprisingly, more than half on that list are generalist and not O&G focused. I networked with bankers at roughly half those firms, so feel to ask more specific questions about any of the above. Many other MMs and a couple BBs (I think) have satellite offices with a few guys, but I can't speak to that.
Piper Jaffray has an office in Denver, but I beleive it is their Public Finance groups as opposed to the IB / M&A teams. Also, would add Industria Partners and Slate Partners (Cherry Creek as opposed to Denver but very close).
