If you want to do FIG, join a bank with balance sheet. JEF does not have a balance sheet.
JEF is a decent shop but its certainly not a good FIG shop. Their investment in CS FIG bankers hasn't been successful.

lol they have a SP with MassMutual so they touch it to their balance sheet. on top of that jefferies did a 60bn FIG deal, i think they’re doing fine

Don't pretty much all of the UMM banks without native balance sheets have partnerships with commercial banks at this point?
There are also a ton of shops without balance sheets doing great FinTech, SpecFin, Depository, etc. M&A deals in high volumes. See Ardea, FT Partners, Sandler O'Neil, KWB, Broadhaven, etc.

Pretty sure Jefferies has a relationship with SMBC. It’s all over their LinkedIn.
