Jefferies vertical: video games - is it under tech? or media and telecom

Hi I had a phone interview with the Jefferies' San Fran office last week, my interviewer asked me if I am more interested in tech or media and telecom.

I was confused as I thought Jefferies just has a single TMT group. I originally wanted to talk about a video game company for the question "Is there a company you are following in the tech space" but didn't want to run into the awkward situation of her classifying it as under Media and Telecom.

Can someone confirm:

1. Is technology a separate coverage group at Jefferies SF? Or it is just one big TMT group

2. Is video game under Technology? Or Under TMT or media and telecom?

Thanks!

Rule of thumb:
• Media: companies that produce content
• Telecom: companies that offer delivery services for content
• Technology: companies that provide software, hardware, and services for the consumption of content

Video games companies are a tricky one, but in my experience it is safe to classify them under the media vertical. Even Xbox and PlayStation are turning their direction to the typical media business model offering subscription based services. If you justify your answer you can get away both with tech and media for companies such as Activision
