JPM Global Corporate Banking

Does anyone have insight into what comp and hours are for jpm’s global corporate bank(housed in CIB)? Looking more on the relationship side, and not on the credit risk as I know comp varies. I saw associate is 140-160 base range, but wanted to know how much it increases from there and what bonus is like? Is comp less than dcm (syndications)?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some insights regarding compensation and hours in JPM's Global Corporate Banking, particularly on the relationship side:

  1. Compensation for Associates:

    • Base salary for associates is in the range of $140,000 to $160,000.
  2. Comparison with DCM (Syndications):

    • Generally, the base compensation for analysts in DCM is the same as in Investment Banking (IB).
    • Bonuses in DCM might be slightly lower than in IB, especially at more senior levels.
    • For associates and above, compensation in DCM might be slightly lower than in IB, but this can vary depending on the bank's performance and deal flow.
  3. Hours and Lifestyle:

    • DCM is noted for having a better lifestyle in terms of hours compared to ECM.
    • The workflow in DCM is generally faster than in IB, which can lead to a more balanced lifestyle.
  4. Additional Insights:

    • Syndication roles in DCM are considered more interesting and valuable than origination, offering significant interaction with buyside fixed income PMs and S&T from the bank.
    • Syndication professionals have the potential to move to various roles on the buyside or sellside if they build a strong network.
