Keeping in touch after not converting SA

Had some good genuine connection with 2 MD's, did not convert the SA. Was wondering do people stay in touch at places where they did not convert? Feel a bit awkward about it but I did really like them, not sure if staying in touch will be helpful for future referrals? but why would I be referred if they did not convert me lol.

Has anyone been in this position before?

Never hurts to stay in touch with them. Might feel a little awkward but it’ll help in the long run to have too many connections than not enough.

In a similar situation for FT recruiting. How do people recommend staying in touch with them? My initial thought was once a month reaching out to see if they heard of any potential opportunities but I don't want to be pushy or spam them.
