KPMG Requires CPA for Deal Advisory/Corporate Finance?

I was just at an info session for KPMG. For my university they were mostly looking for tax/accounting people, but at the end I asked the recruiter about deal advisory/corporate finance, where she had told me I need to be in accounting and on track for a CPA for those groups.

This confuses me. Can anyone confirm they've heard something similar? I asked about the possibility of her connecting me to someone in those groups (during the info session she said to ask if someone from a group you were interested wasn't there), and she said she wouldn't.

My contact at one of their offices in EU (who had strongly suggested I look into KPMG here) didn't mention anything about it. Thoughts on continuing to network there?
