Last 180 emails ghosted (mostly)

I know ton of threads similiar to this, I’ve gotten close to no hit backs and those I get say to email in a few weeks. My email format isn’t terrible I think:

Hi,

I hope you’re doing well or some greeting! My name is Bla bla bla studying bla bla. I wanted to reach out to learn more about xyz, and I know you were involved in sustainability or whatever, which is an interest of mine.

If you’re free for a phone call I’d love to learn about your firm, group, and time at school

Best,

I don’t understand what’s going on, my referrals are being faded and I doubt I’ll have enough chats by the time recruiting is over.

I’d appreciate any advice on this front

Your email format is solid, so I wouldn't get discouraged there. With recruiting being busy, analysts are just getting flooded.

I would maybe focus more on the referrals and try and identify where there is room for improvement. During the calls, it's on you to ask interesting questions, have a genuine curiosity in their background, and also, at some point, tell them about yourself. It would be worth figuring out whether the calls are going as well as they can. Are they saying they are going to pass you off to someone and then fade you, or do they seem not willing to help in the first place?

The context is definitely important here.

I think the calls go well, one person said they would send me emails but ghosted when I followed up, but everyone else was willing to refer me to 1 or 2 people and asked me what groups I was interested in. A few ccd me. 0 of my referrals have been responded to. It’s mentally taxing as I can’t figure out where I’m going wrong, but I’m getting close to no calls.

Make sure to follow up again if they don't respond after a week. It's super common for them to forget and then get around to it once you follow up one more time. If the cc'd you and you reached out and they didn't respond, make sure to follow up again. Sounds like things are going well, so don't get discouraged.
