LATAM Investment Banking -- Thoughts??

Currently a rising sophomore applying for internships and had a question about the competitiveness and prestige for placement in LATAM IB groups.

For context, attend a T-10 school but not traditionally a target, speak both Spanish and Portuguese fluently, and decent resume but nothing special. Compared to other groups/desks, how competitive are spots for these LATAM groups/do I already have a leg up just based on my background?

Latam IB -> Latam Investing (PE/PC), if you like emerging markets then I think it is a great opportunity.

Don't do things for prestige friend. We're all just rotting our corneas in front of our screens, do it for something you think is interesting.

And FYI: Not as competitive but that is because most folks in the US (in the finance sector at least) do not speak Spanish beyond an elementary level. Why apply to a job that you cannot do?

A job at JPM is still a job at JPM.

Not sure, not too caught up in the space. But aren't those the guys who bought Burger King way back? I can't imagine that they aren't respected.
