Lateral Post-Superday Interview Confusion
Had a superday recently for a lateral IB role with a specific coverage team. I thought it was my final round, but recently I was invited to meet a different group in the same office. The reason given was that they like candidates to meet everyone in the office and there might be potential to help this other team on some of their deals.
The thing is, the structure feels pretty formal—back-to-back interviews with senior and junior members of this other group—and I know they were also hiring. I’m interested in both groups, but I want to be clear on where I stand with the first group I interviewed with.
Has anyone experienced this kind of shift post-superday? Any advice on what this could mean or how to get more clarity on the situation? I currently have outstanding offers but this firm is my top choice and I'm hoping to get a decision sooner than later.

Bumping, would love a response
Yeah happened to me at an EB and they passed me to a diff team where I got an offer. First team that passed you on likely doesn’t think you’re a good fit for one reason or another so would recommend you try to get the second team offer
Thanks! Did you have to do another superday? And do you remember how they phrased/encouraged you to meet the other team members?
Yes and no don’t remember
