Lazard NY M&A vs JPM NY

Blessed to have received offers from both firms. Interested to see what people think is a stronger overall choice. Interested in exiting to PE but unsure which has better opportunities. Lazard pays more but JPM is more well known. What would you choose?

Would definitely pick JPM if you can be placed in M&A or healthcare

I’ve seen you send hate at Lazard in every forum that mentions it. What a joke

Bump, have offers for both places. Anyone care to share some insight. JPM or LAZ both NY office.

You’re splitting hairs at this point, both will give you looks and opportunities at every single MF or Corp Dev role you can think of. Pick wherever you like the people most since you’re gonna be spending quite a lot of time with your coworkers.

Working at JPM is not impressive compared to the independent advisors (within the financial industry that is), sorry to break it to Big 10 kiddos. They employ 250k people versus EVR/LAZ/PJT/CVP/MOE far smaller M&A operations. You can tell someone you work at JPM and you either handle deposits and withdrawls at the local branch or you're an overworked analyst about to receive a $30k bonus... both would be correct.

Lazard will be a far better analyst experience. Also going to a balance sheet bank during these times over a boutique is just idiodic.

Don't care about analyst experience. Which one will get more looks in finance?
