Livin' Sitch

Fellow Monkeys,

I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on some geographically desirable living locations in Manhattan.

I plan on moving in to Manhattan in the next few weeks with a few of my friends who are going to be working at various investment banks. Our offices are somewhat scattered, however mostly in lower Manhattan. Some of the offices include GS, Citi, and CS.

What neighborhoods would provide the best blend between a reasonable commute, affordability, and a desirable location to go out/bring back girls. I really appreciate any advice as our search for an apartment commences.

agreed... alphabet city is nice, great bar scene and close to all the village BS that's worth a year or two of fun. I guess it depends if you want to live in a 'trendy' or 'hipster' area. I hate hipsters with their tight black jeans and stupid haircuts.

All said, I would prob look downtown for my early years... every time I hear one of my coworkers talk about rolling out of bed at 8:15 I bite my cheek in envy. I like owning a house, but the commute gets a bit lame when you're out late.
