Markets grad role to LevFin

Hi all,

I'm holding a graduate role in a large European bank in their Markets division. This division actually includes some DCM divisions as well as Structured Finance & some more esoteric financing divisions.

Like at most banks, after a year, grads apply to desks that shall be hiring that year.

I was wondering if anyone could shed any light on moving into LevFin after doing this type of grad programme? I may be able to laterally move into LevFin at my bank, but that's something that I would need to check. Are there any particular divisions that I should try to work in that would better my chances of a LevFin job? Also should I apply to a full time LevFin position after the grad programme or rather a long term internship? Or even another grad programme in investment banking or LevFin?

Any insights on this would be very helpful, thank you!
