Minor Drug Offense

Hi, I am extremely interested in a finance career, particularly investment banking. A year ago I was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia (for pot). I wasn't driving, I wasn't dealing, but it is still on my record. How will employers treat this during a background check? Is this a major black mark or since it doesn't involve money or any major moral flaw should it be OK? Your feedback is appreciate!

Chances are the person sitting across from you during your interview has smoked it once or twice. Just tell them it was a harmless weekend party that the cops raided.

dipset1011Well, Cheese maybe you should've thought twice about smoking "weed" in front of your friends to show that you were uber "cool".

You must be a hit at parties...

something like that should only be done at home with the doors closed. I agree with dipset. I've enjoyed a joint now and then but I'm not going to ruin my image/reputation by doing it where others can see me. The only reason to get caught is because you WANT others to see you. Can't really explain that other than poseurish-dumb-assery.

Philosopher and Dipset. You are the people with no feel on college. It has nothing to do with showing off. Are you serious? Since you clearly know the situation that I am referring to, you would know that I was caught by myself. Yeah, I was really showing off. Get a life and don't even contribute if you have nothing useful to say.
