MM Investment Banking Vs. MM Equity Research

Will be quitting my current MM IB role due to some personal reasons.

Currently contemplating between 2 offers for a junior position, both within the same coverage/industry.

MM IB firm is decent amongst peers but mostly does co-management deals on cap market transactions.

The MM ER firm on the other hand is at a similar recognition level but I will be reporting under a top II-ranked analyst.

Curious to hear y'alls opinions on what may be a better career move.

I'm interested in doing both public and private buy-side gigs down the road.

Thanks in advance!
