MM Superday
Hi everyone,
I had a superday with a smaller MM bank on Friday, and I felt like it went well. At the end of the superday one associate said that we would hear by early next week. The afternnon of the superday I sent a thank you email to the person that I talked to the most throughout the process and received a short reply. Yesterday I sent a thank you note and reiterated my interest to one other person, and I haven't heard back from him. From what I've read most BBs give decisions within a day or so, and I was wondering if this is still the case for MMs or if there's still some hope that I haven't been dinged/waitlisted.
I'm in the exact same boat. Was this with a southeast based bank? If so, I also haven't heard back either. They took about this long to notify me that I was invited to superday, so it could be a matter of them getting paperwork together for offers.
Received an offer 1.5 hours after I left the office from a top MM bank. Take into account that the offers they extend have a deadline and you might be an alternate, that is why you haven't heard back.
You are probably an alternate. So that's okay, not great - but you're not cut, either.
Completely dependent on the bank - both BB and MM. Personally at a MM bank, and our offers tend to go out the afternoon / evening after interviews. Dings go out quickly as well (1-2 days later). Agree with what lapike said, you may have come out as an on-hold while they are interviewing additional students and want to evaluate you against a broader group.
Not fatal - its good that you followed-up. Good luck.
Interviews - Final round at a top MM (Originally Posted: 07/13/2010)
My friend had a final round at a top MM firm (Jefferies, etc) and they asked him for his transcript at the end of the interview because his GPA was too low. Why bring him in in the first place?
They might want to verify that his grades in quantitative/relevant subjects are decent. If he had a 3.8, they could be relatively sure of this.
They wouldn't bother bringing him if he didn't have a chance. It would waste their own time.
