Moelis RX vs HL RX (NYC)
Am interning with one of the groups above and am thinking about recruiting FT for the other group. At either bank, I have been assured that I will be working on RX transactions (which is what I am interested in), so not trying to make this a debate on M&A/RX generalist vs RX group. HL RX obviously has a longer history and very dealflow/talent, but have heard the group is declining recently. Moelis RX has been described as a group that is on the rise, but am I solving for exits as well. I am interested in distressed, special sits, or value-oriented PE funds. I have strong contacts at both banks and confident I'll get an interview if I choose to lateral.

It literally doesn’t matter, you’ll get put in front of the same funds by headhunters from either group. If you like the culture, stay, otherwise try for the other.
