Moelis SA M&A and RX?

Been gearing up for SA 2025 interviews and I've been looking at Moelis NYC. I'm mainly interested in M&A, but have chosen the NYC office for some other factors. Because they have a generalist model for interns, I assume that I would need to come into my interviews with some RX knowledge. Can anyone comment on whether this is true and also the depth of the knowledge I would need for interviewing?

(Specifically, am I expected to know something like Moyer by heart?)

Yes, it is true that you would be required to have a basic understanding of restructuring for the generalist program. You definetly don’t need Moyer by hand, but know your waterfalls and the basic concepts that surround restructuring.
