MOST important thing to do throughout internship?

In addition to working towards gaining the responsibility of a first year analyst, you need an amazing attitude. If your fellow interns are grumbling about work or a boring task (even in a joking way) do not engage. You never know who is listening - and how it will be taken. As you walk around the office always have a smile on your face.
Do as the analysts do.
I remember my VP telling me at the start that interns have the tendency to lose their common sense during their internship. I had trouble believing him at first, but I saw one guys e-mailing our CEO for a coffee. Another kid left at 5, "because his contract states so".
Your internship is a 10 week long first date. You need to pursuade the bank that you are relationship material. The full timers have passed this first date and are now in an (abusive) relationship with the bank. So if you do what they do, you should pass the test as well. If you want to be an analyst, be like an analyst.
