My CHINESE interviewer SCREWED ME OVER

The fucker spoke no English. He did not understand a thing I saying, didn't answer any of my questions and told me to talk in Chinese the whole time. Called me at 4:30 am in the fuckign morning NYC time. I am not applying to IBD, I applied to Capital Markets

should I talk to the HR ladies?

yeah

I had a bad experience with Beijing in the past, so I told the guy I didnt want to be in Beijing the guy didnt understand a word I said. This little man should just be fired. I got a fucking offer the last tiem I applied, and now I cant even make it past a fucking first round interview?

Guys Im so pissed right now, please help me out. what can I do? he is from IBD in BJ

You sound like a little bitch. So you got a tough interview... tough shit. You're not entitled to anything - this man should be fired because of your incompetence? wow, some people on this board really amaze me. You want to work for them, which means you play by their rules - not the other way around. I'm also willing to bet that you overemphasized your language skills on your resume/application.

Please... do complain to HR so that you can be blackballed from the firm and we'll no longer have to listen to your incessant whining.

Reiterating what b said. I bet you played the "I can speak Mandarin/Cantonese" card big time. But if you didn't, think really hard about why this happened. I highly doubt Goldman did this on accident.

Went through your previous posts and it's hilarious how pathetic you really are. First you say you have a full-time offer with GS in Beijing (complaining about having to work in the mainland), then you post about seniors applying for summer internships (clearly refuting the claim that you actually did get an offer), and now you are whining about how you got called out on your language skills.

Way to go, douche. No wonder you didn't get a full-time offer and probably won't get a legit summer either.

I agree with albatrosslee.

JJLM seems like a complete fraud/sketch/tool.

Take a short glance through the guy's post history (ironically, one of his threads is titled "I regret lying"...)

Nov. 11 - In this thread, JJLM asks when MS HK interviews are taking place: //www.wallstreetoasis.com/node/10362

Nov. 12 - Miraculously, 1 day later, JJLM has an offer from MS HK. Wow. He also has an offer from GS Beijing! 2 offers... not bad! //www.wallstreetoasis.com/node/10421

Dec. 28 - All of a sudden, JJLM, a senior, has no FT offers and is now applying to SA positions: //www.wallstreetoasis.com/node/11979

JJLM, as someone advised in your previous thread: "beware of the digital dirt you post--it can come back and bite you in the bum." (this is especially true if you're a pathological liar).

I must say, you're even worse than Devil's Advocate, the college junior who fronts as a 1st year analyst on these boards.

b don't lie. tell me where I said I had an offer from MS HK. I clicked on your links, nowhere did I say that

and I TOLD people I didn't want to talk to about what happened to my GS offer but you should have a pretty good idea when you see my post "I regret lying" put 2 and 2 together

chill out

Click the link I posted and ctrl-F the phrase "The other offer I have is with MS Global Capital Markets in HK, but I want to be in an industry group..." ;)

You posted your "regret" on Nov. 5, one week earlier than when you posted about your two offers, which is why I did not put 2 and 2 together. ;)

But hey... I think everyone on these boards has a pretty good idea of your personality by now. There's nothing further for me to justify. ;)

Dude you are like Alexi Vayner 2...such a fucking compulsive liar...though you may have bullshitted your way into school people in business are generally smarter, especially banking. Your lies will always catch up, especially since your so fucking stupid. Lesson to other undergraduates: don't bullshit employers, it generally won't work and it will catch up to you.

Thanks for stalking me

Again, I want to go into IBD so no I don't have IBD offers. I didn't get an IBD offer, hte only I had got taken away. I don't see what the problem is.

put 2 and 2 together stupid

if GS IBD took away the offer they would not give it to me again

i can't apply to GS IBD

dpoesnt mean i didnt for another firms

I find it most comical that you're still trying to defend yourself. If I were in your shoes, I would just create a new screen name and hide behind it until I got caught in another web of pathological lies. ;)

I did have a bit of a rough day... please, keep me entertained by continuing to reply to this post. ;)

guys its cool you feel this way, im not the type to hide

here's who i am, this is what i did, what im doing

take it or leave it

and stop smiling at me its disturbing ;) ;) ;)

LOLOL....this dude got served/owned/trashed/stomped/(anything else anybody wants to add?)

Keep posting bro, you're on a roll. And I LOLed when i saw all the ;) ;) ;) ;)

Threads like these completely destroy the credibility of this forum.  Come on guys, there is nothing wrong with being on the job hunt -- we all were at some point.  And while it sucks that the company went ahead and interviewed you in the native language -- let's be honest, what business do you have applying to jobs in countries where you don't speak the language!!

CompBanker, the new star user system does provide a degree of credibility that won't be tarnished by threads like this.

To JJLM, you fucked up.  Please do let us know what you decide for the new user name.

I didn't fuck up

I didnt have any IBD offers except 1 that was taken away. So I applied to ALL IBD this time around, but only capital markets with GS because I have a lot of contacts there. then I got put with a banker from Beijing and here I am

so no guys, I didnt do anything wrong and I am keeping this screen name

The worst part about this and why I have no sympathy for you is that have no remorse whatsover. You have the sense of entitlement that you somehow deserve these positions. "I didn't fuck up" and " I didnt do anything wrong and I am keeping this screen name." Guess what? You lied and you were caught so yes you did fuck up and yes you did do something wrong. Stop blaming your shortcomings on other people. Stop thinking that you are smarter than everyone else, because obviously you are not. In response to Compbanker's comments, I have no problem beating up on this kid about his decisions. I sincerely hope he never gets a job in the industry I work in. I don't want to ever have him on my deal team or working for any other bank because I don't want to be caught in the collateral damage when this kid fucks up again and again. Sounds like the interviewers have already weeded him out so probably a moot point.

Again, I ask JJLM why do you want to become an investment banker?

Saying this again, show me where I lied, never did on this board you guys are reading too much into things and being too insecure

JJLM - a little bit of advice for you:  Let it die.  Continuing to defend yourself is going to create more attention and I can assure you there is no way you're going to convince people your story is squeaky clean (true or not).  I hope, for your sake, this is the last post on this thread.

Thanks dinendal. The other offer I have is with MS Global Capital Markets in HK, but I want to be in an industry group...
I'm still very, very confused why HK rejected me too

There you go douche...

You amaze me, but you are good for a laugh. I actually would want to interview you because I can't believe you are resally this stupid in real life. Honest advice. Get a new name and try a MM or Ops (without the sense of entitlement) or find another industry.

you can't read

My offer from MS was not with an industry group. Again, I am applying for IBD jobs. The only place I'm not is GS because of a bad run with the IBD dept. Never did I say I had an offer from MS IBD. READ: G C M

This is getting old.  Anyone else think it's time to lock this thread?

Moral of the story: if you say you're fluent in Mandarin, you are liable to be interviewed by a native Mandarin speaker.  I've seen worse -- a BB VP made an Ivy SA candidate translate the (English) cover letter into handwritten Mandarin and fax it over WHILE they were still on the phone for a Surprise interview.
