Need advice on work experience

I will be transferring into Cornell AEM next year as junior and specializing in Finance, and need some advice on work experience. I basically have zero work experience and am worried this will effect the likelihood of getting an internship for my junior summer. I'll be playing at sport at Cornell and I've heard that firms loves athletes, but I've also heard that firms look for relevant work experience in finance, and experience in jobs like retail, restaurants, etc. don't cut it. Since I don't even have experience in those areas, I'm confused on what I kind of work experience and jobs I should try and get for this upcoming summer. Any advice/ comments would be extremely helpful. Thanks
