Networking Before Freshman Year

I am in the middle of summer before freshman year of college right now, and I've been looking through some profiles of alumni from my school to network with. I was wondering if it would be totally out of place to send out some requests through LinkedIn for informational phone calls, mainly to talk about their journey through school and recruiting, and ask some questions about internships/organizations.

Ha no problem. Also feel free to PM if you have questions, went to similar HS.

Would avoid reaching out for alumni chats at your stage. You could maybe reach out to some current students (upper years at firms you want to work at, freshmen/sophomores in clubs you're interested in) but be wary that some might view it as too tryhard.
