Networking Question about Cold Email
I'm a sophomore and I cold emailed a MD at a lower middle market IB and included my phone number in the email. He called me on tuesday (3/14) at a time I wasn't able to pick up, and he left a message saying call him back. I called him back as soon as possible about an hour later and he didn't pick up, so I left a message. I called him again the next day at noon and then at 4:30, and he didn't pick up both times. I decided to wait a day and call him again today (3/17) at noon and he didn't pick up. I really want this internship, but am not able to reach him at all, even though he showed interest first by calling me.
What do you think I should do? Is he just really busy this week or decided he wasn't interested after he called me and left me a voicemail?
papadelight, at this point, I would move on. What I would suggest doing next time that someone asks you to call them and doesn't pick up is to leave a message telling them you will call back the next day. Call back the next day, and if they don't pick up, email them.
