Networking...w/ interns?!
So there is a boutique with pretty good deal flow I'm looking at and they have a couple of interns. How much help can these interns provide me? Like can they put in a word for me or give the HR my resume?

Short answer no. Why would you contact an intern? your better off contacting an alum that works there.
thing is, no alums from my school works there. surprising, i know.
Unless you are a manager or own a budget, you don't have much clout at a bank.
Everyone below that can get your resume in front of a hiring manager and maybe try to help you get treated like a target school kid, but that's about it.
They have no influence on the process, but can hold the door open just enough to get a resume through.
Yeah definitely - obviously they aren't going to have much say in the process and, ultimately, will have about zero influence on you getting hired, but they can definitely recommend you to HR and try to push your resume through to get you an interview.
This is probably more true if they are previous interns who have now been given offers, but it's worth contacting them regardless. While I can't speak to current interns doing this in my own experience, as far as former interns with offers - I've seen this happen all the time.
They can say they will help you and/or they will actually help you, but it won't make too much diff. on your merit
They can ensure your resume gets looked at, but that's about it
