New G915x LightSpeed vs. Other Keyboards

Logi gaming finally released an update for their G915, and I was wondering if anyone is getting this for banking/modeling or if other keyboards are more competitive? Currently have the MX Mechanical and am tired of the high actuation force (force to push keys down) and have been waiting for a new keyboard to come out. Pricey but definitely swingable from my LCOL city.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some insights on mechanical keyboards for banking/modeling:

  1. General Advice:

    • Bringing your own keyboard as an intern might not be advisable. It can be seen as a "hardo move" and may not reflect well on you (Certified Private Equity Professional - 3rd+ Year Associate).
  2. Specific Recommendations:

    • Logitech K840: Mentioned as a good option without flashy lights (Certified Investment Banking Professional - 1st Year Analyst).
    • Das Keyboard 4 Professional Cherry MX Brown: Considered by some users, but mechanical keyboards might be too loud for the office (Senior Chimp).
  3. Alternative Suggestions:

    • Lenovo ThinkPad: Known for its great keyboard, especially useful if you need a new laptop as well (Certified Investment Banking Professional - 2nd Year Analyst).
    • Logitech G700s Gaming Mouse: While not a keyboard, it's recommended for its programmable buttons and efficiency in navigating through documents (What I Wish Every First Year Analyst Knew).

Given your current dissatisfaction with the MX Mechanical due to high actuation force, the new G915x LightSpeed could be a viable option if it addresses this issue. However, consider the office environment and potential perceptions before making a decision.

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.
