It won't matter for anything PE or buyside related, but if you ever think about lateraling to another firm in the future, I have a feeling it might matter, but again, not sure. Basing this theory off because a bank might want to hire someone who is already licensed to just plug them in ASAP upon hiring. On the other hand, IDK if a firm would really care and might give you a month to finalize your registration.
