Nomura Debt Advisory - Lead left transactions?
Hey Monkeys,
Thoughts on debt advisory at Nomura. Do they act as lead left in a lot of transactions in MM or act as joint book runners?
Also, any thoughts, in general, would be appreciated.

Wish I had better info, but all I can offer is I've worked at multiple banks on 100+ debt transactions and have not seen Nomura serve as left lead on any of them. This is in U.S.
I would imagine they do incredibly well in Japan.
+1 and agree. Nomura just can't really compete with the US balance sheet banks that have existing lending relationships. There is still money to be made as a joint bookrunner and they do a lot of them, but I would not go there expecting to be lead left on any.
What about in EMEA?

I work at Nomura. You can message me.
JP, CITI, BOFA are usually lead left on most term loans/revolvers etc in the US

They are mostly added on to deals which is common for foreign banks sans a few. If they are the head its probably with lower not really that important banks like Fuyo. Or they are in deals with other Japanese banks.
