Not strange. They have lost all their deal flow to better and larger banks that have recently entered the market. 

they are not fun to interact with and always have severe junior turnover

Honestly wasn’t familiar with them but as a recent pivoter to more transition focused things I’ve seen them around things/heard them mentioned. People who know them seem to like them. I can’t opine on them as individuals, or which offices do what, or even exactly what sectors they are active in, but the broader market in the US sucks. Particularly if your whole bag is energy transition. Too many series A, guys with a project/magic technology type stuff. Even if thats your sector no banker is taking that stuff on.
