Office 2003 to 2007

I know there are various posts on here about the differences between 2003 and 2007, but has anyone ever made the switch while in banking? I'm going from a bank that uses 2003 to a bank that uses 2007 and I want to hear what others have to say about he switch. I consider myself pretty solid with Excel and know all the shortcuts like the back of my hand, so I'm hoping the new version doesn't throw it off completely. I imagine PPT will be awesome in 2007 and the transition will basically be getting used to my new bank's macros.

lulz, I love how you make it seem like switiching from 03 to 07 will be a life-changing event. 07 is prettier, easier to use, and has more features....if only I could upgrade my girlfriend.

You know you've been working too hard when you stop dreaming about bottles of champagne and hordes of naked women, and start dreaming about conditional formatting and circular references.

at least 07 is not that different than 10, which i think we will see bank's switch to soon (i worked in the bo of a bb and we received some emails about the eventual upgrade to office 2010)

looking for that pick-me-up to power through an all-nighter?

I find the best feature is real-time updates. For example, if I slightly edit the data in 2003, it doesn't automatically update the graph or whatever that I have open. However, in 07 or 10 it automatically does. Saves time, easier, etc.

I like 2007, though all my work is school or BO type based so... What I'm interested to see is if a lot of FO's change to 2010 for the 64-Bit version or not? Not sure if they ever even hit the limit of 2GB on a regular basis, but eh.

jimbrowngoU,

You're changing banks? Congrats.

I was using 2003 when my bank decided to switch to 2007. At first, it caused a pretty big slowdown in everyone's work. After about a week, everyone was back at normal pace with only a few questions here or there. Keep using your 2003 shortcuts (almost all of them work) and you'll figure out the new stuff very quickly. I like 2007 better due to a few new formulas and the layout. Overall, it will not have much of an impact on you whatsoever.
