**Official 2011 IB Recruitment Thread**

Alright for those of us that are about to begin our final year (next week...gasp) in college and are working on recruitment for IB, I figured I'd make a thread so we can keep each other in the "know" as to who's recruiting when and what positions. This is for USA positions as well as UK.

Also, for anyone that's already in IB that works at some of these firms that are recruiting and knows the schedules, feel free to post.

I know DB and CS in London are recruiting.

Wells Fargo Investment Banking applications go from September 20th-September 25th.

JPM Chase applications are also start in September. Not sure as exact dates but a recruiter told me "beginning of September".

This is for FT recruiting, not SA. Also, please don't post your resume for people to check.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide!

Frabjous"for USA positions as well as US" -- I think you meant UK. Good to know about DB and CS in London, anyway -> that's where I will be applying for.

Sure did. I couldn't figure out where the edit button was. Thought it was in the usual spot.

DB is accepting applications and numerical tests now. I heard earlier that they may take a few months to get back to you after that.

Well, no need to hurry.

I'll be in London shortly anyway, so I may as well wait and set up some coffee breaks / lunches with alumni working there. My summer internship taught me that as long as the name is decent, you really must only care about whether you fit the people/culture. So I want to know what I'll be getting into.

you may want to delete your second post - I mean edit it into a "double post".

I think Citi is doing recruitment now. I got denied for their analyst recruitment program in NYC. But I also heard that they hired 90% of their interns so I'm assuming competition is really tough for what few spots they have left.

A friend of mine had an accelerated interview at Barclay's earlier this week in NYC. He worked at a different BB as an SA but was invited for an accelerated.

looking for that pick-me-up to power through an all-nighter?

Probably a dumb question, but for these accelerated interviews, are they mainly for people who have offers in IBD from other banks or do people with offers from other divisions within a BB participate as well?

my friend interview for them for SA in the spring, but his other offer at the BB he wound up working at was going to expire and barclays had still not decided... so i guess they invited him back for another interview as part of accelerated

Did he have any contacts that he reached out to and then got an interview? or did the HR people just randomly call him?

I would imagine it's just for new recruits for the company, although not 100% sure. Transferring departments within a company seems like an altogether different task.

TheBank112, I'm not sure what you're trying to say but it sounds like you have a family friend contact at barclays. If that's the case, I'd call them before I applied and ask them when they could put a word in for you and when you should apply so that if they're able to pull your application, it'll already be on file.

As to when barcap starts, i'm not sure. Going to apply a bit later tonight for its euro positions.

hr randomly called him... on top of that, he applied online from a non-target and had no connections to get the initial SA interview (although he has a 3.94 and tons of extra curriculars)

LukeJacksonAnyone know about Goldman or JPM?

JPM is posted above. Beginning of September. Not sure about Goldman. I'm not even going to bother applying there. There's a better chance Palestine and Israel will make peace tomorrow than of me getting into Goldman.

hey guys i am new to the forum, what does "sa" means thanks

I don't want to be a product of the environment, i want the environment to be a product of me

SA= Summer Analyst. BB = Big Bank (I think) PE = Private Equity. FT = Full Time. I'm still trying to learn some of the lingo these guys toss around as I'm fairly new also
