Agree for JPM but not for Moelis LA.
I can’t imagine working at a sweatshop like Moelis and having to live in LA. Sure you have marginally better exits than NYC but who really cares. You’re not even in the top 3 groups on the west coast (Q, GS TMT, MS Menlo).
Also, no one will ever take a place that sounds like “mole” seriously. Every time I think of Moelis, I think of dirty mole rats
Ken sits in LA and is very active in terms of culture stuff. Invites interns to play poker at his house every summer. Also prob the best group in LA and best non-tech group in west coast
