Oppenheimer & Co:first round interview insights and details
I've got an interview coming up with Oppenheimer & Co. for an IB analyst position, and I was wondering if anyone has anything to say about the culture of the bank after the CIBC acquisition. Also, is the first round of interviews more fit or technical? Are they hiring in the NYC office or looking to take more analysts for their satellite offices? Thanks in advance.
Also, what kind training program do they provide for analysts? Anyone have any information?

I worked there over the summer in the Private Client Division in NYC so can't be much help about IBD advice. From what I observed, culture is still kind of broken up after the merger but everyone is slowly starting to mesh. Lot of layoffs on both the OPY and CIBC side, heard they won't be hiring many so congrats on securing an interview. Good luck.
i just got a second round with Morgan Stanley IBD. Any advice on potential interview questions? advice? when can i expect to hear back? -yohann

Which office is this for? Feel free to PM me if you're not comfortable revealing here.
This is IBD SA, and I expressed early interest in Healthcare, Industrials, and TMT. I'm anticipating interviewing with employees from both/either the NYC and/or Boston office(s)
Good people at that firm, but the people in HR who handle undergrad recruiting are definitely pretty flakey. Don't feel awkward about following up with them if they don't respond to any of your initial emails (regarding whatever), they're prone to receiving them and not responding.
people there are cool, but the dealflow really depends on the group. I'd go with healthcare or m&a
I'd say get the offer, convert to FT and GTFO. Not a great place to be as an analyst...unless you plan to lateral elsewhere
Bump...anyone else?
