Psychological Profile of MF Partners/EB VPs

For people still grinding out 80-hour weeks 10-15 years into their career, what gives them the desire and energy to sideline every other part of their lives?

I plan on crushing myself for a couple of years in IB and then transitioning into a role with slightly better lifestyle because I want to have a life--nurture my hobbies, date someone, take vacations etc.

Do MF Partners and EB VPs/MDs just have no life goals outside of finance? Or are they so type A that career success overshadows everything else? Are they just addicted to money?
