I am wondering if anyone out there broke into a Summer Associate internship as a PT MBA student?

Yes, plenty including myself. Basically need to ensure it’s a PT program at a T15 that will permit you to qualify for OCR.
During interviews you’ll get an occasional question asking why you chose a PT program, but your coaches should help you spin a good narrative.
You have your reasons for choosing PT, though I’d still recommend a FT program if possible.
Thanks BB Joker
Can you elaborate on why you'd still recommend a FT program over a PT program? I'm looking to apply to FT programs right now but my company just said they would consider funding the PT program at Haas if I got in. But I want to do an IB summer associate internship so not sure how or if that would work in a PT program since I'd still be employed at my current company.
Yes, it can be done. A bunch of part time MBAs at my school (UCLA Anderson) get IB every year, both BBs and EBs. Anderson has a strong part time program though, and part time students have full access to OCR, so you will need to make sure that you have the same access to employers that full time students do if you are going the part time route.
Yes; there are plenty from my program; be prepared to grind with school, a full-time job and the iron-man marathon that is IB recruiting. If you tick most of the boxes, you'll do fine.
Some of the career ppl within the school get touchy about this, assuming not all of them. I know of a prominent school that tries to impede their PT students by not letting them do coffee chats etc until the FT students are nearly done. It's not something you would know by reading their website, but I know multiple people who have dealt with it and are now dealing with it.
That said they did fine...something to ask the school though.
