Question regarding offer/comp
Back Story- Graduated from top 10 school in May with no offer and no real internship experience. Applied to an internship for a boutique IB firm on Linkedin, and got the offer. The firm seems to be legit and the managing partners are very well pedigreed. However there are no other analysts at the firm; is this a red flag? The offer was also min. wage for a 10 week period with intention to convert to full time. Is this a generally standard practice? And does the min wage for the internship have any relation to what the full time offer might be?
The MD said the work I'd be doing is pretty similar to what an IB analyst would do at a larger bank, so I was a little confused why the offer was so low (for the internship).
It does seem like the work will give me good exposure to IB and deal making since the team is so lean. However, I'd appreciate any advice regarding the situation, and also happy to dm name of the bank if anyone wants to take a closer look at the firm.
