Thanks for that link MMmonkey. I noticed that FTI led in pretty much all categories for Crises Management firm. Do you by any chance know or have any idea in terms of what percentage of those cases FTI has done involves debtor-side work?

 

A well recognized restructuring shop in Chicago is Alix Partners. It's small, but well regarded. I think they have offices in NYC too.

Some biz development companies that specialize in senior secured/unsecured, subordinated, and mezzanine investments (including restructuring). Focus on the middle-market segment, PE sponsored and unsponsored investments. I like these names because big banks/lenders are getting squeezed by regulations and will be limited in their ability to hold non-investment grade debt on the balance sheets (should be a plus for these middle market guys):

THL Credit Fifth Street Finance Solar Senior Capital Solar Capital American Capital

KKR Financial (Ticker: KFN) - mainly invests in large cap corporate debt/loans. Securitizes loans into CLOs for match funding. (KKR's affiliate)
