Rising Juniors in NYC

So I'm a rising junior trying to break into IB. I managed to get a pretty good finance related internship at a major insurance company in NYC this summer. It's not IB, but I think I can leverage it pretty well when it comes around to trying to get an internship after my junior year. So my question is, how should I take advantage of the fact that I am in New York City? I go to non-target/semi-target state school, and I really want to best position myself for an internship for my Junior Year. Should I start cold-emailing people who have gone to my school and ask them to meet for lunch/coffee - if so, who should I be targeting (in regards to seniority)? Or is there a more effective way to go about things?
