Rx Interview, Case Study

This week I have third/fourth round case study remote interviews with a few Rx boutiques (HL, GHL, EVR, Centerview, Ducera, Rothschild, GLC, Imperial type places). Anyone have feedback re: the best modeling prep material (debt waterfalls, liquidation analyses) etc? I've googled it and found a decent course for $500 but I don't think WSO has any Rx courses. I feel somewhat confident because I work in this business currently, but I often break down mentally if I am not over-prepared. If you can tutor or help on Zoom this week I can pay you a nice/fair negotiated fee :)

Wall Street Prep has one, and I think you get a discount (15%) if you order it through WSO...

Wall Street Prep additionally has Webinars, if you purchase the full modeling package, and there are 2 Rx webinars therein. They're probably basic for you, but you never know what you'll pick up from them, if you can get access (maybe a friend has it).

Best of luck

I just bought the WSP course and it's alright. Over the top in some aspects of modeling (unnecessarily complex) and it's a bit dated as it is a decade old. But, the content helps put the business in perspective.

xtentaxion for a summer analyst role, Moyer/HL will put you in good shape. I have a morgan stanley legal editorial that does an excellent job of contrasting in-court vs out of court deals that I can share if you DM me as well. I would also be comfortable with modeling debt and interest expense schedules which you can easily find in an LBO. I'd say most of my time has been spent analyzing legal frameworks and credit docs/intercreditor agreements/bond indentures.

sorry that i can't be of much help, but as someone working in the industry who's interviewing with RX boutiques, what are the best resources to beef up on technicals for a Summer Analyst role with these firms? beyond Distressed Debt Analysis/the HL case study that are often mentioned

I would recommend looking up recent ch 11 cases the firm has worked on, a lot of that information is public. Then read recent articles about it and company 10-k or other recent filings to get familiar w capital structure. Try and figure out what went wrong, why they needed RX advisors, why the decided filing was the best option. Come up w specific questions for interviewers that show RX is something you find interesting and want to learn more about. This shows genuine interest and effort in prepping for that specific bank/group

I have also found bankers enjoy talking about things they have worked on so this can be a good way to still impress them but take pressure off. A few interviews when I went through the process I barely talked and ended up getting the offer
