You're fucked - however, you might just be able to land an FP&A/Audit internship if you're proactive.

The reality is that there's so much more to recruiting than just a broad overview of your background.

Based on the information, I can't confidently diagnose your outlook, but you appear to have a strong background compared to most. Networking hard will give you a far better sense of your outlook than a post to strangers with minimal background information.

A much more serious concern is what appears to be a lack of confidence. It will be infinitely harder if you don't think you can achieve your goals in the first place. It does not matter what happened to your friend who got slaughtered recruiting the year prior. You are your own person, and the opinions of others critiquing your career trajectory should not change your opinion of your own perceived success. You seem to be in a good spot; grind and opportunities will present themselves, regardless of market conditions.

Some might,

Most bankers I have interacted with say things like they are. If your resume is crap, they'll likely tell you that. I come from an ultra-nontarget school, and starting out, I had countless interactions where I was directly told that my background was not good enough.

Talk to as many people as possible, especially from your alum network, ask good questions, and get to know them. These are the people you'll need to stand on their heads to get your application through.
