The numbers on these threads (there are so many of them already that you can reference) are always going to skew much higher given it's people who actually want to share (even if anonymous, it doesn't make any know feel good to post relatively lower numbers). These threads are also just silly in general given no one is going honestly admit if they had parental or outside help, downpayments, etc. Nothing wrong with that to be clear, it's just misleading for people who see numbers and won't know.

The other element is that people in this industry are extremely risk-averse and at most will just stick all their money in a S&P 500 fund or nasdaq ETF which is good for them and good for most people in general and it's clearly working out, but you won't see any of these guys really take a leap of faith with entrepreneurship, investing in an illiquid opportunity/small business, "riskier" investments like crypto or single name stocks (likely more of a compliance issue on that front admittedly).
