Series 63 - FICC S&T
would there be any advantage to getting this if I wanted to work in S&T? How about the series 3 if I wanted to work in FICC S&T?

I figure it can't hurt--you can study for it over a weekend and pass.
When you get a job the banks will make sure that you get all of the necessary certifications. Also, you can't get a series 63 without a sponsoring bank. You have to register it with a broker dealer in order for it to be valid.
i thought you could take the series 63 as an individual, without any sponsors? that's what it says on the test's description on some sites?
I think you need sponsors.
