Skip IB and Straight to PE?

Hi guys,

I'm a rising senior at a non-target right now doing my summer analyst stint in IB at a MM firm. I've previously had internship experience in PE and really enjoyed my time there. As I'm applying for FT positions in IB (haven't heard back on a return offer and don't want to get stuck with my pants down), I'm considering skipping the 2-year analyst role and going straight to PE. Does anyone have any recommendations on where I should start looking/where I should target my efforts? Or even if this is a good idea career wise?

Any information at all from someone who has done this/thought about this is helpful and feel free to PM.

Thanks!
